Unemployment in Arab countries reached a whopping 16 percent in 2012, and this follows the Arab Spring of 2011.

First time jobless claims were released today due tomorrow's holiday. The number was over 400,00 for the second straight week with claims coming in at 410,000.

First time jobless claims surge to 439,000 1 week after Obama won re-election. Economists were expecting a rise to 375,000.

Anti-austerity protests and strikes rage throughout Europe including Athens, Lisbon and Madrid and have paralyzed Europe, shutting down schools and cancelling air flights and trains.

The Weekly unemployment applications jumped to 382,000. The Labor Dept is blaming Isaac saying it added 9,000 to the number of applications.

Despite Obama's Big Government Socialist Policies which were supposed to keep unemployment below 8%, first time claims for unemployment benefits rose 34K to a seasonally adjusted 386,000. I am sure Obama will say that the "Worst Recession Since the Great Depression" was even worse that anyone could imagine or some other nonsense. 

I am sure Obama will be out stumping and taking credit for the jobs that were obviously created. He'll say that his big gov't spending policies have worked and we need more and he needs another 4 years. 

More disappointing economic news as the employment rate did not change for the month of June. I wonder if headwinds are to blame? Or maybe Bush?
